Fired cops' lawyer says Walker scapegoat in Hogan case
In Elyria, attorney Robert Phillips urged that former patrolmen Richard Walker Jr. and Garrett Longacre were scapegoats for other officers after Hogan was injured during a 40 minute chase. He claimed Richard Ellis and Ryan Warfield had a better chance to injure Hogan, while prosecutors defended the dismissal as proper. The cases, including related lawsuits, remain unresolved in court.

Elyria patrolman Zack lies test raises disclosure dispute
Prosecutors said a lie detector given to suspended Elyria officer Todd Zack showed deception but is not admissible. They argue grand jury transcripts and other materials sought by defense are requested to impeach state witnesses, while noting 1998 transcripts are unfinished. Zack faces 22 felony charges tied to alleged abuse of six women while in custody, with judge to decide on transcript access.
