Suspect confesses to pastor details of murder

Suspect Rafael Figueroa, 19, called his pastor from the city jail and confessed to killing Cordelia DePaolis at the Middle Avenue home. He said jealousy over Cordelia and Rebecca, his wife’s sister, fueled the attack as a fight turned fatal.

Lorain 3-Year-Old Drowns in Pool. Neighboring Home Key

A 3-year-old boy, Ryan Fuller, wandered from a babysitter and drowned in an above ground pool at a neighbor’s home in Lorain. He was found 45 minutes later and pronounced dead after 8 p.m. at Community Health Partners. Father Ronald Fuller was in the yard. Police and coroner Paul Matus cited the sequence and ongoing CPR attempts.

Elyria Ohio Lake Shore Railway Association faces about 480000 dollars in collateral shortfall to secure a loan from the Ohio Rail Development Commission Lorain County Commissioner Betty Blair said. The commission had agreed in March to lend 1.8 million dollars to revive a 26 mile line from Wellington to Lorain with funds for reconfiguring an Ohio Turnpike interchange at Route 58 to align with the interchange plan.

Spitzer buys Lorain site for 4.2 million near Bass Ford

Spitzer Chevrolet Inc acquired a 44.2 acre site across from Mike Bass Ford on Bass North Ridge Road I Inter Interstate Development Group sold the land for 4.2 million. The development partnership included Carl R Gumia who was convicted in 1996 for defrauding the U S government. The partnership dissolved with Spitzer retaining the option on the land. The former Kaminski dealership title was transferred to Interstate Development before moving to Spitzer.
