The commission had agreed in March to lend 1.8 million dollars to revive a 26 mile line from Wellington to Lorain with funds for reconfiguring an Ohio Turnpike interchange at Route 58 to align with the interchange plan.
Spitzer Chevrolet Inc acquired a 44.2 acre site across from Mike Bass Ford on Bass North Ridge Road I Inter Interstate Development Group sold the land for 4.2 million. The development partnership included Carl R Gumia who was convicted in 1996 for defrauding the U S government. The partnership dissolved with Spitzer retaining the option on the land. The former Kaminski dealership title was transferred to Interstate Development before moving to Spitzer.
