Bittners Defeat North Olmsted To Win Half Title
The Bittner Funeral Home baseball team captured the first half Tri-County title by defeating the Pennzoils of North Olmsted 5 to 4 at Cascade Park. Johnny Yucka starred on the mound despite a hand injury, fending off a Pennzoils rally in the sixth as Frank Kaminski and Frank Olayko fueled a four-run fourth inning. Kaminski led the Bittners with three hits, while Red Limpert added three and Andy Arvay drew three walks. The win followed a seven-game first-half streak and came after North Olmsted had briefly taken the lead in the first inning.
