Court Docket Reduced 564 Cases

A marked reduction in pending cases in common pleas court was reported today. From 1384 cases at the start of the year to 820 now, the 564 case drop came largely from actions disposed in six months, many criminal cases deemed dead wood, dismissed at the prosecutor's request. Judge Findley urged attorneys to waive case records when possible to save costs and clerical work.

Several drownings involved youths in the Zanesville area including Richard Ribble and Thomas Larson, plus Harold Wright found in Timber Row creek.
