Man fires nail gun into skull to ease severed hand pain
William A Bartron, 25, accidentally severed his left hand while remodeling in Bethlehem. To relieve pain, he fired a pneumatic nail gun into his head multiple times, inserting about 15 nails. He was taken to St Luke’s Hospital for surgery to reattach the hand. Police state the act may have distracted him from pain rather than intent to end his life.
