Vermilion to raze historic State Street School after 150 years
The 1873 State Street School in Vermilion is being demolished for site revitalization after decades of disrepair. A $175000 grant from the Ohio Development Department funds the project, with plans for green space and possible community use of nearby property. The Vermilion Chamber Foundation owns the site and seeks to honor memories of local founders while salvaging materials for future park design.
