Sensate Biosystems wins state grant for wearable lactate sensor
Elyria based Sensate Biosystems received a 200000 grant from the Ohio Third Frontier Fund to finish a marketable wearable fitness patch that continuously detects lactate to warn of overexertion. The effort partners with Kible Health and ties to Case Western Reserve University and NBMC through BioSIS.

Two charged in Lorain County fatal crashes
Melvin Sanchez Amaro 28 of Cleveland and Arabella Yungmann 21 of Lorain face felonies in two fatal crashes in 2022 and 2023. Amaro is charged with eight felonies and three misdemeanors for a May 2022 Lorain crash. Yungmann faces aggravated vehicular homicide and hit and run charges tied to a July 2023 Elyria pedestrian death. Both pleaded not guilty and are free on bond.
