New Regulation Grants Elyria Health Board Expanded Power
A new emergency regulation empowers the Elyria Board of Health to enforce modern sanitary rules, compel landlords to upgrade conditions, and regulate waste disposal and animal limits. Violations carry up to 100 dollars fine and 90 days jail. The measure mirrors broader health ordinances and addresses issues since 1916, with provisions for food handlers, premises control, and neighbor-approval for animal limits.
