Third Victim Of Fumes Dies Today From Gas Stove
Fumes from an improperly installed gas heating stove claimed the life of Stanley Stuckey 17 at Elyria Memorial Hospital around 12:20 a.m. He was the third family member to die after his father Clarence J. Stuckey 42 and brother Clarence P. Stuckey Jr. 19 were found dead Monday evening. The family will have triple funeral services Thursday at 2 p.m. from Sudro Curtis Funeral Home with Captain B F Johnson of the Salvation Army officiating and interment at Brookdale cemetery. Stanley, born September 16, 1934 in Elyria, was taken to the hospital after a neighbor forced entry broke the door down.

Arctic cold wave grips Ohio and Midwest with 90 mph winds
A sharp Arctic air mass swept into Ohio University regions driving temperatures down to four above and 23 degrees in four hours. Workman Who Fell From Roof Slated for Hospital
Duke Steedman a 24 year old construction worker fell twenty five feet from the roof of the new Church of Christ on Washington street Monday afternoon. He suffered a brain concussion a skull fracture and multiple broken bones including a nose left elbow wrists and abrasions of the knees and abdomen. A witness Clyde Carr says a roofing tile dislodged and Steedman fell feet first then crumpled to the floor near the doorway. He lay on the first floor with a pool of blood near his head. He was removed to hospital in serious condition.
