Barrett Chapel early dedication remembered in New London
A note kept by the late Ed Harland reveals Barrett Chapel Church near New London held dedication services on May 14, 1875. At a Ladies Aid meeting the founding charter members were honored with a program, bouquets for Lottie Hooker and Elsie Cooke, and a luncheon followed by a report on church reminiscences and future events.

Mrs Pearl Leimneger attended a shower for sister Mrs Erwin Perkins at Mrs Clement Green's Brighton home. Ladies Aid served dinner at Community Church basement. Mr and Mrs Lt E Radcliffe visited Alma Radcliffe and Mr and Mrs Jay Radcliffe of Nova for dinner with the Jacksons of Camden.

West Ridge Grange No 1902 convened on Oberlin Road with all officers present. One candidate was pledged to first and second degrees and the third and fourth will be staged next meeting on February seventh. Dinner for sixty for Milk Producers Association planned with committee including Mrs Merle Penfound Mrs Millton Buabcock Mrs Alfred Ensign Mrs Clifford Strietler Frank Eldrich and Fred Decker. Dinner served February sixth. Lecturer Mrs Lucille Porter led an evening of Bell Call discussion shell the farmers wife tend garden penny contest and charades. Refreshments served by Miss Ruth Dred and Mrs J H Penfound. Mrs J H Penfound entertained at a quilting party on the Qberlin Road guests Edith Nevin of Waldron Henrietta Sande Ries and others.

COLUMBIA The Class in First Aid Treatment will be held at the town hall Wednesday night at seven o clock. Caroll Bartter was called to Connell, Ohio, Friday to attend the funeral of a former college mate. Mr. and Mrs. Edmunds and family and Claude Rundle, who have been spending two weeks in Georgia, have returned home this weekend. Mrs. Jesse Burnett and Mrs. John Lauton called on the former's mother, Mrs. Anna Shapley in Elyria Tuesday. Professor Brown, Instructor of vegetable growing at Ohio State University, Columbus, was the guest of Caroll Bartter Thursday night. Ten of Caroll's A. Z. Fraternity brothers of Ohio State University were also his guests that same evening. Henry Weekly, who is in Marine Hospital, Cleveland, is improving. Liberals attach a special importance to the liberty of the individual.
