Plane crashes kill three in Provo and two in Oklahoma
In Provo Utah a private plane crash killed three people when a passenger froze the dual controls. Pilot was Charles T. Corbell with Mrs. Corbell and Leonard Thatcher aboard. In McAlester Oklahoma James Steward and Vance Johnson, both 18, were injured fatally as their plane fell 100 feet after takeoff. Wellington Fire Department battled the blaze from 1 until 5 PM aided by high winds, saving only some first floor furniture. Insurance on the home had expired January 17 but renewed January 19.

Three Injured In Weekend Traffic Crashes In Elyria And Wellington
Three people sustained injuries in weekend traffic accidents. Helen Mikalsky, 16, suffered a fractured left arm in a collision on Route 301 at Banks Road involving a car driven by Mike Sobelski, who was arrested on a driving under the influence charge and released on bond to await trial. New York. Captain Frank Spurr master of the Esso Baytown reports the rescue of survivors from the seaboat Cavalier. He states the number one lifeboat under Chief Officer Anderson found the survivors in life belts and brought them alongside for transfer aboard. All survivors can travel by automobile upon landing. Five men and five women need overcoats shoes and trousers for temporary transfer. He suggests mooring the vessel beside a suitable dock for motor car transfer.

Skating Ponds Are Flooded Again
