St George Melchite Rite Church in Manhattan
New YorkCitys St George Church at 103 Washington Street is a rare Melchite rite in Manhattan. The Syrian Catholic house of worship, seating about 100, uses Syriac Mass and preserves ancient forms as Msgr Bernard Ghosn explains its link to Rome yet independent church governance. The congregation includes many Syrian merchants near the Hudson and Washington Market, with some members preferring Latin services in American Catholic churches.

Are There Other Barriers Keeping Us From God
The article reflects on Matthew's call to follow Jesus and questions what keeps people from total surrender. It frames modern psychology terms alongside spiritual discipline, asking if fear, self interest, or desire for pleasures hinder a full commitment to God and obedience.
