Tragic Route 20 Crash Kills Weinbergs on Anniversary
A Willard couple A S Weinberg 55 and Esther 53 were killed when their car was struck by a truck on Route 20 near Kipton as they headed to Elyria for their 27th wedding anniversary. Gerald Faust 37 of Toledo drove the truck tractor that lost control. James Snyder of Toledo also aboard gave similar accounts. Faust held in county jail pending investigation. Weinberg active in Cleveland baseball and former scout for the Boston Braves. The couple moved to Willard in 1940. Other accidents over the weekend included Detroiters Leslie Eason 42 and Bertha Reading 33 injures near Elyria Memorial Hospital. Five injured in collision at Schramm Road and Route 58 between Ray Winningham 24 Berea and Dale Baker 143 Beebecourt.
