Birthday brawl erupts at Lorain church party
A Saturday night fight at St John Ukrainian Church in Lorain led to seven people charged with aggravated riot. Damarius Hitchens 20 Isaiah Gonzalez 19 and James Thomas 23 were arrested after fleeing the scene. Four Lorain teens ages 15 16 and two 17-year-olds were also charged and taken to the Detention Home as police described. A juvenile was later charged with misconduct at an emergency obstructing official business disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct for taunting officers.

Fire damages Elyria apartments at Park Meadow complex
A Monday blaze in a vacant second floor unit at Park Meadow Apartments off South Abbe Road left seven units homeless from smoke and related electrical damage. Lorain City Council OKs tax abatement agreement
Lorain City Council voted 7-1 to approve a tax-exemption CRA pact with Mayor Tony Krasienko and County Auditor Mark Stewart. It removes the 4000 dollar CRA application fees and refunds those already paid, with 15-year 100 percent abatements for homes built after April 18 2006.
