Columbia High School senior Mitch Hengst leads Back For More to a finals berth in the 14th annual Tri-C High School Rock Off at the House of Blues on Feb. 6. After two prior attempts the funk act delivered a crowd pleasing set and plans to add new material, aiming for victory.

Eight area clinics will still provide H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccines. Joyce Davis of the Lorain County General Health District notes the flu season is not yet at its peak and vaccine supply has stabilized. The district has sponsored about 40 clinics at schools and community sites for both vaccines.
Vincent G. Yacobozzi aged 93 was found frozen to death in his driveway in Amherst Township. Coroner said hypothermia caused death as the Lorain County Sheriff's Office investigated. Salt on a utility pole near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport triggered a fire that knocked out power to the airport, canceling dozens of flights. The pole fell onto lines at Brook Park around 6:50 a.m., FirstEnergy said, with moisture helping conduct electricity and smoldering inside the pole.
