Amherst council delays action on 2 ordinances
Amherst City Council met Monday night in light of poor weather and sent two of three ordinances back to committee. The Westchester Estates subdivision moved toward approval as it advanced to third reading despite concerns about storm sewers. The outgoing council had earlier passed the Westchester proposal to the new council on first reading, while two other ordinances were returned to committee for study. The new system schedules committee meetings on the third Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each month to streamline operations and widen attendance.
