Celeste condemns abortion clinic fires as terrorism
Gov. Celeste joined women's rights advocates in calling for an end to what they term terrorism aimed at abortion clinics after fires hit Margaret Sanger and Women's Health Care centers in Cincinnati and Toledo Medical Services. Officials warned there is no direct evidence tying the fires to anti abortion groups but investigators label the incidents a high priority.

Wife charged in Vermilion man slaying
Emma Bauer, 45, was charged with aggravated murder in the shooting death of her husband Raymond Bauer, 48, at their Vermilion home on Cummings Road. He was found in the living room with five gunshot wounds, one to the heart. Bauer was arrested after police were admitted to the residence. She is held in Lorain County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond and faces arraignment Wednesday in Vermilion Municipal Court. The gun used was not Bauer’s service weapon, and police seized it as evidence. A call to police at 9:55 a.m. led to the investigation.

Lawyer argues deported Greek right to return ban
Lorain County case seeks vacating a 1975 heroin possession conviction to clear the way for George Arvanitis to return to the United States after deportation in 1976. Attorney Margaret Wong contends Arvanitis lacked advice about a lifetime ban on reentry and asks the court to erase the felony, arguing inadequate counsel and warning. The judge will rule after more written briefs.
