Poland priest kidnapping trial reveals top ranks' approval
Polish witness says Interior Ministry leaders approved the kidnapping plot against Rev. Jerzy Popieluszko and that the plan could proceed even if the priest died. Lt. Waldemar Chmielewski testified that Capt. Grzegorz Piotrowski sought permission from higher authorities and that the body was later disposed of in a Vistula reservoir.
