Wellington Group To Attend Soil Unit Meeting At Firelands High

Members of the Lorain County Soil Conservation District from the Wellington area will attend a 10 a.m. meeting at Firelands High School. Prominent speakers are scheduled for both sessions. A New Year’s Eve dance by the Fraternal Order of Eagles drew over 300 attendees with Wayne Purdue and a group providing music. The event offered noisemakers hats and refreshments as members, wives, and auxiliary members and guests joined in. Mrs. Perkins was elected president of the Past Presidents’ Parley of the American Legion Auxiliary after their year‑end meeting, with Mrs. Fay Perkins as secretary and treasurer. The group voted to send a nurse in Dayton a gift and played bridge bingo, with Mrs. Perkins high and Mrs. Robert Weber low. The hostess served a Christmas gelatin dessert and Mrs. Weber will be hostess next.
