Highway funds bill would release 7 billion to states

The House expected to vote on a bill that would release more than 7 billion in federal highway funds to states, including about 250 million for Ohio. Rep Bob McEwen said immediate action is needed to avoid halting spring and summer construction, with 450000 jobs at stake. The measure, similar to a Senate plan, would allocate money for interstate projects from the Highway Trust Fund, generating about 200000 direct jobs and 200000 related positions.
