Two Newborn Twins Die After Texas Separation Try
In Houston, Texas, doctors failed to save one of the Morales twins after an attempted surgical separation for joined twins. The operation, performed by a team led by Dr Denton Cooley, lasted about three hours but the weaker twin died just before completion. The second child remained in critical condition. The procedure was the second such Texas surgery in less than two years. In New York, a prosecution witness in an attempted murder case was seriously wounded by an arrow in a Brooklyn subway station and underwent extensive surgery. the victim, Alexander Hudson, was listed in satisfactory condition.
