School tax isn't solution ex educator says
Bill Phyllis a former assistant superintendent of public instruction for the Ohio Department of Education spoke to the New London Rotary Club on Feb 16. He now leads the Ohio Coalition for Equity and Adequacy of School Funding which seeks fair funding for all Ohio public schools. He argued current funding relies too much on property taxes and urged a statewide overhaul to ensure districts can provide up to date facilities and quality education. Legislators have agreed to consider a statewide sales tax on the May ballot as a proposed funding fix.
