Blue Cross will not screen new subscribers for AIDS
Blue Cross and Blue Shield firms in Ohio say they have no plans to require blood tests for new subscribers to detect AIDS. The decision comes as doctors note that HIV testing only shows exposure to HTLV II and does not guarantee disease development. If an employee contracts AIDS, the company policy remains under discussion.
