Lorain Officers to Be Promoted in Civil Service Move
Lorain Police Sgt Joseph Palermo and Patrolman Ralph Walters will be advanced to lieutenant and sergeant respectively after civil service exam results. Both natives of Lorain, they joined the force in 1946 and 1950 and will be certified by the Civil Service Commission before promotion. Palermo has served in multiple divisions and heads the record room. Walters patrols cruisers and works as a radio dispatcher.

Cleveland GI Sentenced to 10 Years at Hard Labor
A Cleveland Ohio soldier received a ten year court martial term after accidentally wounding himself with a bullet and fatally shooting fellow soldier Paul Mielmk 20 during an incident in Mannheim Germany He was convicted of unpremeditated murder and given a dishonorable discharge and rank reduction from Spec 4 to private.

Hospital Auxiliary to discuss past year work and future plans
