Denver's Lowry AFB launched a search for a Trans World Airliner missing between Albuquerque and Santa Fe New Mexico with 16 aboard. The Martin 404 was two hours overdue after leaving Albuquerque for Santa Fe this morning. Two SA 16 planes with emergency crews scoured a snowbound area as TWA reported the flight unreported.
A plane crash near Loami Illinois was found on a farm north of the town with initial reports indicating several fatalities. State police and ambulances were dispatched after an unidentified woman caller reported the wreck. Officials did not confirm whether the craft was commercial or private.

In Cincinnati Mrs Rose Levi aged 74 burned to death in bed at a rest home Friday. Firemen said a cigarette from an attendant changing linen lit the bedclothes. A practical nurse received first and second degree burns trying to aid her patient while three other bedfast residents watched.
An 83 year old man, John Kiester, died when a fire swept through his apartment in Ashtabula. Firemen blamed an overheated stove for the blaze. Damage estimates were not provided.
