Wire reports say a syndicate of American businessmen used kickbacks and lavish gifts to influence U S officials and capture a share of millions spent by GIs in service clubs. Plane lands on city street in New Orleans incident
AP reports a light plane flown by S W Kelly of Attalla Alabama made a forced landing on Leon C Simon Drive in New Orleans after the engine quit at 2500 feet likely due to fuel exhaustion. The craft rolled about 300 feet, no injuries, minor damage to the left wing from a street sign.
