Lorain mother of four struck and killed on Rt 254
A 31-year-old Lorain mother of four, Mrs Donald Shirley Eicher, was hit and killed while walking with a friend on an unlighted section of Rt 254. The autopsy cited a broken neck. Driver Mrs Emma L Gerhardt, 46, reported she did not see anyone on the roadway prior to the crash. Police investigate. no charges filed yet.

Vermilion Man Dies After One Car Crash
Fred Baisden a 39 year old Vermilion resident died at Lorain Community Hospital at 8 40 a m after being listed in critical condition since Tuesday evening following a one car crash on Baemhart Road in Brownheim Township. The Lorain County Coroner will determine the cause of death. The guard rail was heavily damaged in the collision.
