Medina youth given stay of execution in Mast slaying
Arron-Jerry Hallinger aged 18 of Medina received a stay of execution from the Ninth District Court of Appeals pending appeal of his first degree murder conviction for the October slaying of Harold Mast. Co-defendant Max Amerman, 27, and Rande Mast, 15, were also involved with planned ligation of the wife, with Amerman slated for May 9 and Hallinger previously set for March 15, then moved to June 15.

The New York Central Railroad System announced the appointment of Frank J. Jerome to the new post of executive vice president. Soldier's Medal Awarded Posthumously for Airman Heroism
At Wright Patterson AFB Ohio a posthumous Soldier's Medal was awarded to Mrs Marie Drifke for her son Corporal Jack Morris USAF who died Sept 15 1950 during a rescue attempt of a crew member from a burning B 29 at Okinawa Ryukus Islands.
