The Elyria Board of Education awarded contracts totaling 711018.74 for the Eastern Heights school on Garford Avenue. T. J. Hume Co. will build the main structure, Sam Ross & Sons handles plumbing and HVAC, Dunfee Electric supplies electrical work, and Tiffin Scenic Studios provides stage equipment and curtains. Construction to begin next month with two added classrooms approved as alternates. The project will serve 420 students and is part of a 3.7 million dollar district program aiming for completion by June 15, 1952.

New Citadel For Salvation Army To Have Commodious Auditorium

The modern building uses bamboo colored brick veneer and glass, with a rear ground area paved as a daytime playground and night parking lot. Main entrance faces Broad street with a lobby, administrative office, and a large meeting room that can split via folding doors into smaller spaces.
