30 Air Bases Lined Up For War Across Europe Africa and Middle East
London says the U S strategic air command is lining up about 30 in case of war bases from Germany through Britain Africa to the Middle East. About 20 000 American air force personnel, 500 planes including jets and four engine bombers, would be ready for a rapid atomic counter attack. Lynds Jones 86 Oberlin College professor emeritus of natural science died at his home 352 West College Street. He taught at Oberlin, edited the Wilson Ornithology club bulletin, and was a pioneer in college ornithology. Survived by wife Clara Tallman, three sons Lynds Lee, Harold C., George T., and daughter Mrs Max W De Laubenfels. Cremation planned with private services later.

Driver Jailed for Overloaded Truck Load Charge
Louis Hummrick 21 of 5328 Fleming Street Vincent was jailed by Justice David Goldthorpe Amherst for 30 days and fined 235 dollars plus costs for driving an overloaded truck. He hauled 68 000 pounds of steel from Cleveland to Toledo for Kaplan Trucking Co over the 15 650 pound overage. He says this is his first offense in about five years of truck driving. He is married with a 4 month old child. The jail term follows a three day per 1 000 pounds over rule.
