Trial resumes in Lorain County case over girl injury
Malanowski suggested sexual trauma caused infection but Darling testified the girl likely became septic from water inhaled in a tub and vomit. The mother said she and Gibbs were suspects and were not allowed on a helicopter with the child as they drove to Cleveland, where Gibbs allegedly had a seizure and was hospitalized. The girl underwent multiple surgeries and was placed with a relative during county investigations, finally returning home nearly a year later. The trial continued before Judge Christopher Rothgery.
