Syrian forces push into Shiite towns near Aleppo amid siege threat
Syrian army and allied fighters entered two pro-government Shiite towns near Aleppo and pressed rebels in the region, cutting the main supply route from Aleppo to Turkey. The capture followed a Russian-backed push as U N talks faltered, while 40,000 people in Aleppo province sought refuge and the U S pledged aid exceeding 925 million dollars for refugees and development.
