Lakewood Man Dies After Car Crash on icy Chester Road
Lakewood resident Charles Lempeck, 22, died about 11 50 p m when the car he rode in with five others skidded on an icy stretch east of Avon on Chester road. Lempeck was found suffocated in the rear seat with the window open. The driver was his brother Alex Lempeck, 28, of Lakewood. other passengers were Frank Klubert Paul Tekura Paul Jacobs and Andy Pavseki, all of Lakewood. The car tipped into a ditch. Lempeck died at the scene and was taken to Schwartz funeral home in Lorain.

Preparations for a railroad switch at the American Rolling Mills Company buildings leased by Manufacturers and Fabricants Inc of Cleveland are to begin within two days. Mas Construction Company has the contract to build a low track inside a building, linking to New York Central rails. Engineers will soon determine the switch curve. The inside track will allow assembly of products on cars within the building, ready for shipment, with the track depressed below floor level to clear overhead cranes. The company plans to move to Elyria from Cleveland in spring and manufactures annealing furnaces for steel makers.
