Two waves of powerful explosions rocked Tsingtao after Chinese forces destroyed utilities amid a Japanese interior push. Bath Street Home Damaged By Fire
A chimney defect caused a blaze last night at the Bath Street home of Mr and Mrs Waller DeéClute 184 Bath Street. Fire damage is believed to run to several hundred dollars, mostly to the house owned by Mrs George Knierim of Lake Road near Lorain. Furnishings escaped serious damage. The De Clutes spent the night with neighbors as the furnace could not be fired. Mrs DeClute discovered the fire by smell and a crackling sound in the dining room near the chimney. Firemen removed lath and plaster in the dining room partition and in one floor bedroom to reach the blaze.
