Bethlehem guards tense as Christmas prayers for peace amid tensions
Bethlehem mayor Elias Freij urged peace and justice for the 13th Christmas under Israeli rule while security forces detained several Arabs as a precaution against disruptions. The Latin Patriarch Giacomo Beltritti led a procession from Jerusalem toward Manger Square, with welcome by local officials and Franciscan monks.
