Robbers Club Shoots Victims in Two Thefts Totaling 770

Authorities seek leads in two last night robberies. Howard Morse, 47, was clubbed and robbed of 670 cash and 82 in checks at 602 Oberlin Rd after closing his business. Marine DeVoogh, 57, of Osborne Rd., Columbia Station, was robbed at his home around 4 am of over 100 in cash, wounded in the shoulder and arm. Both incidents suggest local suspects with knowledge of victims.

Grotto Collapse Kills 18 Near Belgium Village

A Belgium cave near Zichen-Zussen-Bolder collapsed trapping about 150 mushroom gatherers. Eighteen were buried and feared dead, the first body a recovered eight year old girl. Twelve hurt seriously while many more treated for cuts as Dutch Belgian rescue teams worked amid dust.

Missing Boy And Girl Sought In Ohio

Two children Virginia Sapio nine and her brother Jimmy disappeared from their Willowick suburban home Monday night. Foster parents Mr and Mrs William Grabowski reported no reason for running away and authorities saw no foul play at that time.

Truck Explodes In Brownfield Killing Four In Firemen Scene

A burning butane gas transport truck collided with a pickup on a four lane highway near Brownfield Texas. The second blast killed four and injured about 150 spectators and responders. At least 15 of the injured were in critical condition. victims were treated in Terry County and Lubbock hospitals. Fire Marshal Dum Cousineau died. Sheriff James Fulford escaped with minor burns.
