Supreme Court Takes Up Ten Foot Land Dispute

Frank and Hattie Marvin fight for damages over a 10 by 66 foot strip in Ridgeville they say they bought from Jacob and Gertrude Schmitz. The suit, four years old, has gone through two trials and two appeals with Marvin favored each time. The Supreme Court orders the Court of Appeals to certify its record. Damages originally awarded were 336 dollars with 50 dollars remitted.

Thieves Break Into Avon Lake Village School

Thieves burglarized the Avon Lake consolidated school last night escaping with a saxophone a clarinet and a suit case containing a football uniform. The Elberta Beach Amusement and Development Co. went into receivership at noon as Attorney Dan B. Symons was appointed receiver by Judge A. R. Webber under a $5,000 bond. The suit filed by Diamond Glass Co. of Cleveland seeks $2,775.05 for materials on the Elberta Beach pavilion and asks marshalled liens, sale of the premises by execution, and judgment for the claimed amount. Defendants include The Ohio Farmers Insurance Co and Elberta Beach Amusement and Development Co with several named individuals and two unnamed parties noted as Jane Doe and John Doe.

National Cash Register Profit Sharing Payout Totaled 20480290

In Dayton on December 17 the National Cash Register Company distributed 204 802.90 in profit sharing among plant employees. Frederick B. Patterson, company president, announced a second large disbursement to this group and noted a third is due in February. He called the plan the most liberal profit sharing program in America and said workers have a personal stake as working partners.
