Albanian government orders general mobilization

The Albanian Legation in London reported the government has decreed a general mobilization to counter the Serbian invasion. It says Albania does not recognize the fighting as internal rebellion and claims Serbs fostered the movement. Serbian forces and Yugoslav bands are said to press Dora frontier amid bombardment.

Funeral Held for Samuel Gompers in New York

Race and labor united in mourning as Samuel Gompers late AFL president was honored in a public funeral at the Elks lodge and town hall. Stephen S Wise led the service with James Duncan and Gov. Al Smith, Mayor Hylan, Admiral Plunkett, and Bernard Baruch in attendance. About 2,080 inside and 50,000 outside viewed the body over 26 hours. Flowers filled the air as the crowd listened to broadcasts from three stations.

Council Asked to Send Delegate to Gas Hearing

The city council is urged by the service director to appoint a city representative for the Logcn Gas Co service charge hearing before the Public Utilities Commission in Columbus on January 8. Man Attacked by Burglar in Lorain Home

Lorain December 18. John Brodka aged 64 was attacked by a burglar in his West 14th Street home Sunday night. The intruder reportedly took 70 dollars as Brodka lay dying. Brodka died today from a chronic illness leaving nine children motherless and fatherless. John Smith was arrested in connection with the robbery, charged with burglary, and bound over to the grand jury in municipal court with a 5060 dollar bond.
