Century Old Village To Be Moved West Of Present Location
NEW PHILADELPHIA O Dec 16 A century old village Plain field will be placed on wheels early next spring and rolled one third of a mile westward to avoid backwaters from the Wills Creek reservoir project. The conservancy district plans a new village with 20 homes two general stores a garage and filling station and possibly a church and tiny post office. The district bears moving costs and residents may trade lots or pay differences for new plots. Nine residents will remain in their homes with the rest sold or rented to newcomers. The Odd Fellows hall and a general store occupy the ground floor of the largest building to move.
