Bishop replaces Hopkins on LaGrange council
Andrew Bishop, 32, of 205 Forest St., was appointed to LaGrange village council to replace John Hopkins who resigned Oct. 12. Bishop, a general foreman at The Bishop Products in Elyria, has lived in LaGrange six years and has four children. Hopkins cited job pressures and lack of interest as reasons for resignation amid disagreements with the mayor over past proposals. The council discussed police chief Del Faddis amid rumors and welcomed Ball’s resignation due to illness in his family while praising Faddis. The council will seek a replacement village solicitor Robert Corts, who will vacate in February, and approved $700 yearly liability insurance for the police and false arrest coverage up to $500,000.
