Fumes blamed in Grafton deaths
An elderly Grafton couple were found dead in their 787 Main St home from carbon monoxide fumes from a faulty boiler. Stanley Ptak, 74, and Florence Ptak, 75, were discovered by an American Oxygen Co. serviceman as authorities investigated a long faulty boiler and a recently airtight basement, with Mrs. Ptak using oxygen for heart ailment. The pair had been married 16 years and attended Belden United Methodist Church. he formerly worked as a master mechanic and she ran Florence’s Beauty Shop.
