United States Steel opposition to subsidized steel deal rises
More than 100 Representatives cosponsor a resolution opposing a plan to import subsidized semi finished steel. United Steelworkers President Lloyd McBride urged defeat of the deal and pledged union support for the fight, warning of unemployment and national security risks if the arrangement proceeds. The union vows to block the agreement through the International Trade Commission and Congress, urging public action across the nation.
