Interstate 480 nearing completion in 1986 progress
North Olmsted reports two of three final links of the 27mile 400 million I 480 project under construction. When finished the road will span from the Ohio Turnpike in North Ridgeville to Exit 13 in Streetsboro, easing congestion on Brookpark Road and southern Cuyahoga County routes. The remaining segments include a 2.3 mile stretch to Ridge Road and a 2.5 mile segment to Broadview Avenue, with a 0.8 mile tie-in to Tuxedo Avenue. Construction costs total about 99.7 million. The project aims to create a southern bypass and faster commutes to Cleveland and Great Northern Mall.

Snowy storm hammers Ohio roads killing woman
A northern Ohio snowstorm with 39 mph winds left two to three inches of snow and a 26 degree low, causing numerous slick crashes.
