Patrolman Lloyd Sweet found a pistol bottle of high powered liquor in a potato pile in the cellar of Louis Yarka 1810 Middle Avenue. A distillery landscape grew around Whiskeyville near the hospital site with Jack Shupe’s tavern and Beaver Creek as origin points.
