State Agents Raid Amherst Liquor Ring Arrests
Surprise liquor raids by three state agents yesterday afternoon led to the arrest of Mr and Mrs Jacob Schibley at 821 Cleveland Street Amherst and Ray Brightbill of R D 2 Grafton. Brightbill pleaded guilty to possession of liquor for sale and received 30 days in the county jail. The Schibleys pleaded not guilty with Sehibley charged with possession of illegal liquor after 15 12 gallons and 33 pints were found cached behind a secret step while Mrs Schibley was charged with selling liquor. Agents were aided by Lorain police Mackerty Hiden and Deputy Sheriff William Hoist.

Floodlights at Ely Stadium are re installed ahead of the scholastic football season opener on Friday when Elyria High hosts Ashland. Seven home night games are on the 1935 schedule, nine at Ely Stadium. H H Gregg of LaPorte retires after 38 years with the United States Railway Mail Service at age 60. Beginning as a substitute clerk in 1897 on the Pittsburgh to Chicago line, he later served on the New York Central routes Cleveland to Syracuse and Cleveland to Utica. He estimates traveling 2.5 to 3 million miles. He chose early retirement for a long vacation and good health.
