Warrant Issued for Amherst Deputy Kos in Shooting Case
A warrant for the arrest of Albert Kos, Avon Lake deputy marshal, was issued by Justice Joseph Petro at the request of Sheriff Clarence Adame and County Prosecutor Don W. Myers. Kos is charged with shooting Ralph Schively, 17, Amherst, as he and companions rode on Route 8 between Wellington and Oberlin. The bullet lodged near the youth’s spine and he is hospitalized in Amherst. Kos, an rifle club instructor, says he aimed to frighten the youths and did not intend harm. He was detained for questioning and is to be arraigned this afternoon.
