The Violano Virtuoso combines two real violins and a piano to produce orchestral effects of three to eight pieces. The violins are full-size, wooden, with four strings, and controlled electrically to simulate master violinist performances. The instrument plays new popular and classical selections and costs 418 MBC on a paper MUSIC roll.
The Mills Violano project evolved over years with H K Sanders starting the concept of a mechanical violin playing device. Sandell, soon aided by Mills Novelty Company and Mills executives, invested over a million dollars to perfect the instrument for music lovers worldwide.
Since its inception the Violano has seen continual improvements by inventors and mechanics. It now includes many human expression devices such as tremolo staccato arpeggio portamento pizzacato shake trill and more.
