Fires Damage St. Joseph’s Parish Property Amherst Township
Vandal youths are suspected after two fires struck St. Joseph’s Parish property in Amherst Township. Motors were stolen from three lawn mowers stored at the parish foal shed in the cemetery, then a torch was thrown into the shed causing a large blaze that destroyed the shed and contents. A second fire started in a cupboard under the choir loft stairs when rags wrapped around a candle ignited, discovered by Edward Syrowski who helped fight the fire with water. Continued on Page 2.
