Four masked gunmen robbed The Chris Cafe at Pearl Avenue and Arth Street Lorain at 12 20 a m taking 269 dollars from proprietor Chris Evanoff and four patrons. Evanoff fired six shots as the robbers fled in an automobile. Victims included William Barry 17 Mrs M Corcoran 35 John Cross 25 and F Garcia 32 all from Pittsburgh or Lorain. Suspects aged 20 to 25 wore kerchiefs and forced victims to lie on the floor during the raid.

James Minch twelve of 241 Harwood avenue was treated at Elyria Memorial Hospital after being struck by Walter Jalowiec of 132 Clark street while crossing Broad and East Bridge streets. Jalowiec said the boy ran in front of his car and could not avoid the impact. Minch suffered lacerations to the right arm and a possible fracture.
