SHANGHAI Aug 29 A Japanese embassy spokesman charged that China's new treaty with Russia contains secret military clauses, including Russian arms for Chinese armies and pilots fighting on the Chinese front. Yui Ming of China's Foreign Ministry said China seeks non aggression pacts with other powers and criticized Japan's blockade of the China coast as an act to test foreign patience. The Nanking announced accord commits both sides to oppose war, vows non assistance to aggressors, preserves prior treaty rights, and runs five years from August 21.

Man Injured in Barn Altercation Over Robbery Claim

Storm Near Daytona Beach Moves Up Florida Coast
A tropical storm advancing from the Atlantic lashed Florida coast with winds up to 50 mph in the storm center.
